Having been fortunate to have travelled to the island on a number of occassion we’ve picked up some great tips and personal recommendation on places to stay, play, eat and drink as well as what to see and do when off the course.

Port Royal Golf Club
The course was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr in 1970. It reopened in 2009 following a $14 million makeover. It has hosted the major winners in the Grand Slam of Golf and more recently an annual PGA Tour event.
The course is situated in Southampton Parish on the western side of Bermuda, perched along the rugged coastline of the Atlantic Ocean with a number of holes set tantalisingly close to the water’s edge.
Stunning ocean views are on offer from almost every hole, not to mention the world class 16th hole which ranks among the best par 3s in the world, a round here is sure to live long in the memory.
Mid-Ocean Golf Club
Established in 1921, the Mid Ocean Club has a rich history (see video above), blending elements of traditional Scottish links-style golf with the natural beauty of Bermuda.
As the name suggests Mid-Ocean is known for its stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, with some holes running along the coastline.

Tuckers Point Golf Club
Located in the Tucker’s Town area on the eastern side of the island.
One of the standout features of Tucker’s Point Golf Course is its stunning natural beauty with the course offering breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Castle Harbour, and Harrington Sound.
The course was originally designed in 1932 by renowned golf course architect Charles H. Banks. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations and redesigns, including work by Roger Rulewich and Kyle Phillips.
These improvements have enhanced the course’s playability while preserving its historic charm.

Best Post Golf Bars & Restaurants in Bermuda
As you’d expect from a major city there are a huge range of dining and drinking options throughout Stockholm.
You’ll know before you go that it isn’t the cheapest place in the World to sample a pint of your favourite craft beer, cocktail or glass of red. However, the quality and variety of food and refreshments after a day on the course may help ease the wallet wallop!
Below are four recommendations that are a little out of the ordinary we think you’d enjoy and give you a memorable experience of Stockholm nightlife:
1609 Bar & Restaurant
You’ll find our first recommendation the 1609 Bar & Restaurant at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, a luxury hotel n the capital city of Hamilton. It’s named “1609” in reference to the year that Sir George Somers, an English explorer, and his crew shipwrecked on Bermuda, leading to the colonization of the island.
One of the standout features of the 1609 Bar & Restaurant is its breath-taking waterfront setting. The restaurant is located on a floating platform in Hamilton Harbour, offering stunning views of the harbour, the city skyline, and the surrounding waters. This makes it a popular spot for both daytime and evening dining.
1609 offers a menu that combines Bermudian flavours with international cuisine. We found the seafood a real highlight, with a variety of dishes featuring fresh catch of the day.
The restaurant’s outdoor terrace overlooking the harbour is a great spot for al fresco dining.

Tom Moore Tavern
Located in one of Bermuda’s most enchanting buildings in Hamilton Parish, Tom Moore’s Tavern combines a charming atmosphere with an exquisite menu to create an experience fit for any occasion.
We would like to highlight the restaurant’s ambience, charm, elegance and historic setting whilst the service and attention to detail is excellent. Swizzle Inn Pub & Restaurant
The Swizzle Inn Pub and Restaurant is the oldest pub in Bermuda and the place where the iconic Rum Swizzle cocktail was created.
It is a local landmark, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of decent, affordable fare.
The bar is located in Blue Hole Hill Baileys Bay, and is close to some of the best attractions in Bermuda such as the Crystal And Fantasy Caves, Blue Hole Park and the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo.
No golf holiday in Bermuda is complete without trying the famous Rum Swizzle cocktail in the bar where it was created so make sure you head over here during your stay on the island.

The Birdcage Rooftop Bar:
Located on Front Street in Hamilton, the Birdcage Rooftop Bar is a must visit and one of the island’s premier rooftop bars with breath-taking views over the harbour. Known for its handcrafted cocktails made with local ingredients. The ambience is colourful and relaxing in a lounge-style setting.
This amazing bar was actually named after the “The Birdcage”, which was created in the 1962 by Bermuda’s first city engineer, Geoffrey ‘Dickie’ Bird, who constructed “the cage” to protect policemen directing traffic.
The cocktails are all Bermuda-inspired and we would recommend trying the original Birdcage Swizzle or the Hey Bird Signature cocktail.

The best months for a golf holiday in Bermuda
Having taken golf holidays in Bermuda previously in our opinion the best time to travel to this stunning island is either between March to May or September to November.
At this time of year the temperatures range from mid-70’s to mid 80’s with generally pleasant weather and low humidity. Perfect conditions for golf. There are also fewer tourists and the golf courses are less crowded. There’s greater avaialbility for buggies and carts at the golf courses and tee times are easier to find.
Obviously, the fall period does fall into the hurricane season and that should be a consideration.
You can still travel to Bermuda for golf in the summer months between June and August but it does tend to be more crowded. Temperatures and humidity will be higher than at other times of the year. We’ve alos found that hotel & airline prices are also higher due to the peak season and gernerally you’ll have less flexibility at the golf courses.
How to get to Bermuda
Getting to Bermuda from the UK
British Airways operate the only direct flight from the UK to Bermuda. The flight time is approximately 7 hours.

Getting to Bermuda from the USA
By air, Bermuda is just 90 minutes from New York and two or three hours from major US East Coast cities like Atlanta, Boston, Miami and Philadelphia.
Major airlines that run flights between the USA and Bermuda include Bermudair, American, Delta and JetBlue. United also run some seasonal flights out of Newark.
You can also travel to Bermuda by sea either on a cruise ship or charter vessel. Cruise ships arrive into Bermuda from New York, Boston, Baltimore and Orlando. You can find out more about cruising to Bermuda here.
