Greencard Golf Holidays South Africa 2018 Event

Golf holidays in South Africa have quickly become one of our favourite winter golf destinations. Great climate, high quality golf courses and hotels, sgolf-holidays-south-africa-2018tunning scenery, fantastic food and wine plus tremendous value for money all combine to produce a perfect winter golf holiday.

Our recent Golf in South Africa survey showed that our clients still enjoy exploring and playing golf in this magnificent country, but the results also indicated we could make some improvements that would make the experience even better.

With this in mind we’ve brought in some changes to our 2018 golf tournament holiday including reducing the number of venues and building in a safari experience option.

Double venue event at luxury Five Star hotels

The 2018 Greencard Golf Holidays South Africa event will be a double venue trip based in two luxury hotels with 7 rounds of golf, including our 72 hole tournament. The first stage of the event will be based in the Sun City before moving to the magnificent Fancourt Golf & Spa Resort which was voted the favourite destination of our 2017 South Africa tour event.

Transfers and Flights between venues

This year, due to the distance between venues, we will arrange for your return transfer from Johannesburg airport to Sun City.

We will then fly from Johannesburg to George leaving only a ten minute transfer to Fancourt, also included.

For our Greencard Golf Holiday South Africa 2018 event we have chosen two great venues as bases for our tournament.  We will initially fly into Johannesburg and travel up to the famous Sun City resort following five nights here, we will transfer down to one of our signature destinations the Fancourt Golf & Spa Resort in George.  These two destinations combine to give us a fantastic golf holiday in South Africa and a perfect winter golf break.

The Palace of the Lost City

The Palace, is listed on the ‘Worlds Leading Hotels’ and is one of South Africa’s most luxurious holiday destinations. Architecturally stunning, and an overwhelming feeling of space, it has been designed around the idea of being the royal residence of an ancient king.

Relax & Unwind

The resort is set in 25 hectres and surrounded by a magical world of jungles, streams, waterfalls and swimming pools. You can dine in style at one of five restaurants and bars or simply enjoy the view from your luxury bedroom or suite.

Additional facilities include, the full-service “Royal Salon” spa and the Gary Player designed Lost City golf course is right on the door step of the hotel.

Also within the grounds are the largest permanent maze in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of the most advanced water parks in the World surrounded by palm trees and beaches.

beyond the resort you can explore the local area using the regular free shuttle services running from the hotel. For those of you who fancy playing the tables, there’s also a casino on-site.

There’s an incredible range of room options available at the Palace of the Lost City. There are a total of 335 bedrooms and suites throughout the hotel. Each is designed with your comfort in mind and are fitted throughout with everything you’d expect from a 5 star resort.

Features of all rooms include luxury amenities, soundproofing and blackout curtains, air conditioning, garden or pool views and a balcony or patio where you can enjoy some outdoor space.

Game Reserve

A key reason for selected the Palace resort, as one of our bases for this golf holiday to South Africa, was its proximity to a game reserve. The neighbouring Pilanesburg National Park is a stunning malaria-free reserve, and home to a vast array of wildlife including the elusive “big 5”. We can assist you in adding a range of safari experiences to your trip – please see the additional tab on this page for further details.

A Welcome Addition to the Greencard Portfolio

The Palace of the Lost City resort is a South African adventure in itself and a great new addition to the Greencard schedule. We think you will be impressed by the facilities, service and accommodation on offer here and look forward to introducing it to you and believe it will be a fantastic complement to our second host venue of this golf holiday in South Africa.

The Fancourt Resort, situated in the heart of the Garden Route, was voted the favourite golf and hotel venue of our 2017 Greencard Golf Holiday South Africa event. And we’re not alone, Fancourt Golf & Spa Resort is South Africa’s premier leisure and business resort.

This magnificent hotel is just seven kilometers from the centre of the historic town of George, and is laid out through over 600 hectares of lush landscaped countryside with the majestic Outeniqua mountains as the perfect backdrop.  The resort offers the perfect mix of modern luxury and classic elegance with accommodation that caters to every taste.  There are 115 luxurious bedrooms and suites all fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable and unforgettable as possible.

Exquisitely conditioned to provide a riveting golfing experience, this tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land.

Ranked number 16 in South Africa by Golf Digest and designed by Gary Player. The course is a fantastic complement to it’s sister the  Montagu.  Named after the mountain range that forms its breath-taking backdrop, it is perfectly conditioned and always provides an enjoyable but true test of golfing with its many risk and reward opportunities.

Please Note: Whilst at Fancourt if you would like to arrange extra golf rounds on any of the resort courses including The Links, which has been voted #1 golf course in South Africa, we can help with the arrangements.
