ABOUT ABU DHABI
The wonderful destination of Abu Dhabi in the UAE comprises a collection of islands namely Saadiyat Island, Yas Island the mainland of which are all connected via a great bridge and road network.
Abu Dhabi is less than 1 hour transfer from Dubai and is therefore very accessible via most airports in the UK into Dubai or Abu Dhabi itself.
We will be staying on the mainland at the superb VOGO (formerly Westin) Golf Resort & Spa with the Abu Dhabi National course, together with iconic Falcon clubhouse on site.
Yas Island is one of the most exciting destinations in the UAE, playing host to the season ending Formula 1 grand prix alongside the largest indoor theme parks in the world, water parks, adrenlin powered Ferrari World, and most importantly, Yas Links Golf Club.
Beyond Yas Island it’s a short drive to downtown area of Abu Dhabi – where there’s plenty to do and see.
Take a visit to the local souk or the shopping malls for some bargains, spend time at the incredible newly opened Abu Dhabi Louvre or visit the spectacular Grand Mosque, Royal Palace and Etihad Tower.
Alternatively, you can take in a stroll, or grab something to eat along the famous corniche while watching the supercars drive by!
For additional charges we can even arrange other experiences including a jeep desert safari, or a trip to Dubai so you can take in two emirates in one holiday!

ABOUT SRI LANKA
The Greencard Golf Tour has visited over 40 different countries across every continent of the planet where there’s a golf course.
But we are always looking for new and exciting places to tee it up.
With that in mind this will be our first trip to beautiful Sri Lanka – not a venue you’ll find on the list of many golf tour operators, but it is a real hidden gem of the golfing globe.
With a combination of historic and scenic golf courses, plus 5 star accomodation near the major cities and on the stunning coastline Sri Lanka offers a perfect city and beach golf break.
We know it’s going to be an amazing golf experience – and one you’re going to want to share with your golfing friends when you get back home.

Colombo
Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, from the street hawkers in the noisy bazaars of the Pettah area to the blue collared, tie clad businessmen of the World Trade Centre, Colombo is where Sri Lanka’s economic and financial heart beats.
From the grand old mansions of the bygone era to the department stores and shady tree-lined boulevards of today, Colombo is able to satisfy everyone from the prince to the pauper.
The shopping, nightlife, and the dining experience in Colombo are pretty amazing and there’s plenty of other historical, cultural and religious places of interest in the city too.
Kandy
Nestled amidst misty hills and lush greenery, Kandy is a city that beautifully blends history, spirituality, and scenic beauty.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kandy is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world.
Stroll along the serene Kandy Lake, marvel at the vibrant blooms of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, and immerse yourself in the rich traditions showcased during the iconic Esala Perahera – a dazzling festival of dancers, drummers, and adorned elephants.

Abu Dhabi National Golf Club
The course has played host to the DP World Tour with the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championships.
This superb course offers perfectly manicured fairways that weave their way round the seven salt water lakes on the property.
The generous greens are well protected by strategically placed bunkers.
YAS Links
Designed by Kyle Phillips, whose work also includes Kingsbarns and Dundonald links in Scotland this fantastic course is located on Yas Island.
It is a genuine, traditional links course, the first of its type in the Middle East and an absolute pleasure to play.

Additional golf can be arranged on courses in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

The Royal Colombo Golf Club is Sri Lanka’s oldest and most prestigious golf club, established in 1879.

Victoria Golf Resort
This 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Donald Steel and Martin Ebert to USGA specifications.
Recognised by Golf Digest as one of the “100 Most Beautiful Golf Courses in the World,” the course features dramatic undulations, tree-lined fairways, and stunning vistas of the Victoria Reservoir and surrounding mountains.
Shangri La Golf & Country Club
Designed by renowned architect Rodney Wright, the course is set amidst a former sapphire mine, coconut plantations, and dunes overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Colombo City Tour
During the city tour you’ll be visiting top tourist attractions in Colombo such as Colombo Gangaramaya Temple, Wolvendaal Church, Independence Square and Viharamahadevi Park
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
En Route from Colombo to Kandy we will be stopping for a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
This renowned sanctuary in Sri Lanka is dedicated to the care and conservation of orphaned and injured Asian elephants.
Established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation, it is situated in the village of Pinnawala, approximately 13 km northeast of Kegalle town in the Sabaragamuwa Province.
The orphanage spans 25 acres and, as of 2023, is home to 71 elephants, including 30 males and 41 females across three generations .
Kandy City Tour
Visit Sri Lanka’s second largest city which is rich in history, culture, and natural beauty.
Once the last capital of the Sinhalese monarchy, it now stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Jeep Safari at Yala National Park
The Yala National Park in southern Sri Lanka has the world’s highest concentration of leopards.
Much of the nature reserve is parkland, but it also includes jungle, beaches, freshwater lakes and rivers and scrubland.
In addition to leopards, the Yala National Park is also home to substantial numbers of elephants, crocodile, wild boar, water buffalo, grey langurs and many more varieties of large animals.
The park is also home to birds of prey such as the white-bellied sea eagles, waders, painted Storks, the Indian peafowl and the Sri Lanka jungle fowl.

We will be taking two pivate plane trips during our time in Sri Lanka:
Private Sea Plane Transfer
Earls Regency Hotel – Shangri La, Hambonata:
Sea plane transfer – 35 minutes flight.
This”incredible experience” departs from Victoria Reservoir, approximately 20 minutes drive from the Earl’s Regency.
We’ll fly over spectacular scenery, before landing in Weerawila domestic airport, approximately 30 minutes transfer to the Shangri La, Hambantota.
Your luggage will have been transported by private road transfer.
Private Plane Transfer to Colombo International Airport
As the transfer by road from the Shangri La can be up to 4 hours!
To avoid such a long trip we will be flying you 45 minutes privately from the nearby Weerawila airport directly to Colombo International airport to connect to your onward flight.
Your luggage will travel by road, and will be waiting for you on arrival in Colombo Airport.

ABU DHABI
Flights
Abu Dhabi airport is the closest International airport to the resort with a transfer time of just 15 minutes.
Dubai is also an option, with the transfer time approximately 90 minutes.
The best option for the event is definitely with Etihad Airways who offer a direct service from several UK airports to Abu Dhabi.
Following our stay in Abu Dhabi they have a direct service to Colombo with a flight time of just over 4 hours.
Emirates is also an option through Dubai.
Although this would involve a longer transfer to and from the hotel in Abu Dhabi (approximately 90 mins).
It is advisable where possible to purchase a ticket to include all flights through to Colombo using the multi destination option.
If you need any assistance with flights, we are happy to offer advice and can complete your booking for a nominal £50 per person service charge.
Transfers
Return Airport (Abu Dhabi Airport) and Golf Transfers (YAS Links) are included in the Package.
We can also arrange airport transfers from Dubai airport, however, a supplement would apply.
Please note transfers to play any additional golf is not included.
SRI LANKA
Flights
For the full itinerary of this event you will need fights between Abu Dhabi and Colombo plus a return flight from Colombo to your final home destination.
For UK travellers there are both direct and indirect flight options to the UK from Colombo.
If you need any assistance with flights, we are happy to offer advice and can complete your booking for a nominal £50 per person service charge.
Transfers
We understand the importance of minimising travel time between venues.
We’ve taken care to ensure that each move is as efficient as possible, and have local experts to help everything to go as smoothly as possible.
This will allow you to focus on the holiday and enjoy a seamless experience.
