Golf Course Overviews

Singapore
Due to the golf clubs’s booking restrictions we will be able to confirm which course we play in Singapore later this year. However, we plan to play a round at either one of the Sentosa or Laguna National courses. These exclusive courses offer a wonderful golfing experience in the heart of Singapore.

Sentosa – Serapong
Opened in 1892 this was the home of the prestigious Singapore Open from 2005 – 2019. In 2006 the course underwent a $12 million revamp. The overall results propelled the Serapong in its world rankings. The course now has beautiful fast greens, trademark mounds and contours, lakes and stone-lined walls all complementing the breathtaking scenery of the Singapore skyline.

Sentosa – New Tanjong
Inspired by the renowned golf course architect Alistair McKenzie this stunning course is uniquely set against the Singapore Straits with views of metropolitan Singapore from almost every hole. Following a $35 million in 2016 the new Tanjong Course offers a fantastic golfing experience.

Laguna – Classic Course
Laguna National’s Classic Course revels in its reputation as one of the most dramatic tests of golf in Asia. Visually stimulating and refreshingly bold in its presentation, the Classic challenges every element of your game.
Originally crafted in 1993, the course underwent a redesign in 2010. In 2017, a full reconfiguration was implemented to soften angles, shape faster greens, enhance playability and modernise fairway and tee grasses.
From the perspective of both design and temperament, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind offering in the region.

Laguna – Masters Course
Affectionately dubbed ‘The Grand Old Lady’, the Masters Course is a much-loved treasure that has stood the test of time. For the best part of three decades, the Andy Dye-sculpted layout has been lauded for its fast and true Bermuda grass greens, towering raintrees and beautiful lakes.

In the best traditions of parkland-style courses, the Masters demands accurate approach shots and astute course management – attributes that have contributed to it winning multiple awards and widespread plaudits from professionals and amateurs alike.

Malaysia

Els Club Malaysia Ocean Course – Desaru Coast
The Ocean Course, designed by the club’s namesake and four-time major champion, Ernie Els is set on one of the most spectacular plots of land anywhere in the world.

Overlooking the South China Sea the course can comprise of any two of the three (named Coast, Ridge and Lakes) 9-hole courses on-site offering unique variability.

Each layout has their own character and personal touches from Els, but they all take inspiration from the famous links courses spread across the UK, with large rolling greens and firm run off areas designed to place a premium on a sharp short game.

Els Club Malaysia Valley Course – Desaru Coast
The Valley Course, designed by three time major champion Vijay Singh is a completely different test compared to the Ocean Course.

The small greens and sharp undulations mean that approach play must be precise in order to prevail against the course.

The layout is as dramatic as you’ll find anywhere in the world, Singh used the slopes on the property to perfection, creating a perfect mix of testing shots and vistas that will provide memories to last a lifetime.

Vietnam

Hoiana Shores
Set against a spectacular coastline and unspoiled terrain, Hoiana Shores brings the design genius of Robert Trent Jones Jr. to Vietnam for the very first time.

Offering majestic views of the Eastern Sea and Cham Islands, Hoiana Shores Golf Club (HSGC) offers a thrilling links golf experience for golfers of all levels. With a spectacular natural seaside setting, a luxurious clubhouse and 18 challenging-yet-rewarding holes, this is a must-play course and a wonderful venue.

Montgomerie
The Montgomerie Links was rated as one of Asia’s ten most elite courses by the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide.

Since then, yearly awards are common for Montgomerie. Locals know the Montgomerie Links Vietnam as Monty Links, which gives golfers the feeling of being in Ireland or Scotland without the cold temperatures of the British Isles!

The first golf course in central Vietnam takes advantage of its proximity to both the Vietnam East Sea and the Marble Mountains; the latter is visible from many points.

BRG Da Nang
BRG Da Nang Golf Resort (Da Nang Golf Club), Norman Course opened in 2010 and immediately leaped to fame being recognized as one of the 15 best new courses in the world by USA GOLF magazine.

Da Nang Golf Resort has achieved many awards, amongst them 2011, 2012, 2013 best golf course in Asia by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly as well as the 2012 Best Golf Course in Vietnam by USA Golf Digest and the 2014 IAGTO Diamond Award.

Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills Golf Club is located near the foothills of the cable car station leading to Ba Na Hills.

The IMG managed Da Nang golf course is the first Luke Donald-designed course in Asia and the world.

Ba Na Hills is laid out in several valleys of the surrounding mountain ranges. The course has a diverse mix of natural topography and vegetation.

The holes at higher elevations give spectacular views of the valleys below.
