Golf Course Overviews
Co Sligo GC at Rosses Point is one of the great links of Ireland. The course boasts one of the most scenic locations in Ireland perched on cliffs that tower over three expansive beaches overlooking the Atlantic. The panoramic mountain and ocean views are spectacular but they pale in comparison to the stunning scenery provided by Benbulben, an enormous limestone rock formation that the area is known for.
Besides the great views, the golf course offers an excellent challenge. The traditional links layout, designed by Harry Colt, utilizes the natural contours of the dune-covered landscape. The end result is a course filled with dramatic undulations, elevated tees, and raised plateau greens.
Co Donegal GC at Murvagh is built on flat duneland on a peninsular jutting into Donegal Bay with the Blue Stack mountains behind. Not that you will have time to study the views as maximum concentration and long hitting is required to master this fabulous links.
Enniscrone Golf Club is amongst the finest and most challenging of traditional Irish links golf courses. The Dunes course is one of Ireland’s top-ranked championship links courses; voted “Best in Connacht” by Golfers Guide to Ireland; repeatedly a top-15 links course in Golf Digest’s review of Irish golf courses and a perennial Top-100 UK course from Golf World.
Strandhill Hill Golf Club is a beautiful 18 hole links golf course situated on Ireland’s Atlantic coast in Strandhill, Sligo. The course boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside and ocean with Knocknarae mountain providing the back drop.
