2017 Greencard Golf Holidays France – Brittany Event

For our 2017 golf holiday in France, we are returning to the Brittany region in the North-West of the country for the first time in over a decade, but with this venue and selection of golf courses we think it will prove to be well overdue.

golf-holidays-france-greencard-2017-golf-tourSables d’Or des Pins is located along the Côte d’Emeraude – Emerald Coast of Brittany and a stone’s throw from the famous Cap Fréhel penninsula. This delightful town is nestled among pines and dunes along a vast lagoon. The huge sandy beach is considered one of the finest in Brittany. The town has a good choice of bars and restaurants.

There are direct flights from the Stanstead into Dinard and ferry crossings available into St Malo for several south coast ports including Poole and Portsmouth.

The playing programme for this golf holiday in France includes a round on each of Sables d’Or, Dinard, St Malo and the European Challenge Tour course of Val Andre.

We’ve selected some of the best golf courses in France they will be both challenging but rewarding for all handicap levels.  The dramatic scenery at Dinard, Sables d’Or and Val Andre Golf Courses will be a real treat for links golf fans while St Malo will provide spectacular views in a beautiful forest setting.

Golf Course Overviews

Over our 72 hole amateur golf tournament we will be playing some of the best golf courses in France.

St Malo: Set in the forest, ancient hunting grounds, and surrounded by the vast Mirloup lake, the course boasts spectacular views and plenty of water hazards! Take care not to be deceived by the inviting wide fairways large bunkers lurk where you least expect!

Dinard: Established in 1887, Golf Dinard is France’s second-oldest club. Spectacular views of the Emerald Coast may be the most memorable feature of a round at Dinard, but the course itself is a real gem.

Internationally renowned for its quality, and revered in France for its historic past, Dinard is an essential component of any good golfing tour of the Brittany region.

Val Andre: This is unquestionably one of the best golf courses in France and a must play for any golf holiday France. Located on the coast and overlooking the cliffs and beaches below it is fair to say that the views are stunning.

The course itself is a real challenge with the rolling landscape and well protected greens. The signature hole is undoubtedly the 11th, which has been ranked as high as 11th in the list of the world’s top 500!

Sables d’Or: This 18 hole links was created in 1925, it was re-modeled in 2003 to create a more challenging and varied layout. One of the major changes is the reconstruction of the tees and the creation of several hazards that have been placed around the greens and fairways.

There are direct flights from the Stansted into Dinard, which is a short drive from our hotel in Sables d’Or.

Ferry crossings are a popular way to travel for golf holidays in France. For this event there are ferries into St Malo for several south coast ports. For a shorter crossing time you could travel into Cherbourg but this option involves a longer drive once you arrive in France.

Given the time of the crossing, you may be advised to consider booking a cabin for the journey which may be available at a small surcharge and can be well worth the investment. They are quite basic but provide a private space which includes a private bathroom and bunk beds which can double up as a seating area.  Alternatively, can also pre-book seats in the lounge deck area.
